Hyenas are the underdogs of the large carnivore world. Often viewed as scavengers and poachers, hyenas have a lot more to offer their habitats than their reputations let on. Not only do these large hunters help clean up the environment by literally eating bones(!), they also do a lot of their own hunting rather than the stealing of which they're accused. Hyenas can travel in clans of dozens of members and they form some serious family bonds. With the insane anatomy female hyenas have to contend with, it's no wonder they take such good care of their babies!
